Mdose and Iris Healthcare announce a strategic partnership to market MADE IN FRANCE surgical masks!

In response to the concerns of health professionals, worried about the risk of a second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, the wearing of masks has been compulsory in companies since the first of September and for people over 11 years of age in all enclosed public places since 20 July. At the same time, the Government urged companies and all places open to the public to "build up a 10-week preventive stock of protective masks, in order to be able to cope with a potential resurgence of the pandemic".

What if we bought French surgical masks?

This is now possible: Mdose, a specialist in the manufacture and sale of medical equipment, has just signed an exclusive marketing agreement with Iris Healthcare, (the medical subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Iris Ohyama, worth 4.5 billion euros in 2019), a Japanese mask manufacturer since 2009. Iris has 7 production units around the world, including one in Lieusaint, in the Ile-de-France region, where the masks distributed by Mdose will be made.

"I am delighted with this new partnership with Mdose. We have been working together for more than twenty years, and I am convinced of the complementary nature of the two structures. The end-user of the masks will be able to rely on our ultra-modern production tool and on Mdose's expertise in the field of health", said Patrick Lambert - Iris Europe Sales Director.

Thierry Bureau, President of Mdose, lists six good reasons for choosing the surgical masks (Type FII) marketed by his company:

  • The masks manufactured in Lieusaint are fully labelled "made in France".
  • The factory will eventually have a production rate of 3 million masks/day, a guarantee of supply.
  • Manufacturing on national soil provides independence from foreign production and from the risks associated with volumes to be purchased, stored, financed and transported.
  • The location in Ile-de-France, close to major roads, considerably reduces the product's carbon footprint.
  • The manufacture of the masks by Iris Healthcare is a guarantee of excellence and experience: the Japanese group has long been a major player in this type of manufacture. Each mask is made up of three layers of polypropylene, a nose clip and an elastic band; all of which are easily recyclable.
  • Moreover, the price per unit is very competitive.
