Medical Dispenser a new solution for retail pharmacists

It's already been 8 days since the Pharmagora 2014 trade fair closed its doors and will not open again until next year. As a specialist in medical logistics, this exhibition was the opportunity for us to officially present our new solution for pharmacies, the Médical Dispenser.

The Médical Dispenser is a solution designed for pharmacies that want to offer a service for preparing doses to be administered to their customers. The Médical Dispenser is first and foremost a weekly pillbox, of pharmaceutical quality, with a circular shape and 28 compartments corresponding to the 7 days of the week and the 4 daily doses.

The preparations are made by a mini-automat with manual change guided by a software allowing the integration of the information concerning the patient's treatment. The taking of medication by patients is facilitated by a colour code and pictograms specific to the time of day and week. As a result, the patient cannot make a mistake about the time of day or the day of the week.

The Medical Dispenser promotes the autonomy of elderly people at home, with or without the intervention of a carer. It has been designed to improve the quality of life of these people thanks to weekly monitoring of their treatment.

It is the simplicity of use, the speed and the small size of this device that seduced us above all. Indeed, the preparation of the pillboxes is done in the greatest simplicity, since it is enough to follow the instructions displayed on the touch control screen. The semi-automatic loading and the preparation software save a lot of time, as all the patient information is entered. It takes about 3 minutes to prepare a weekly pillbox for a patient.

With the Médical Dispenser, the follow-up of treatments at home is practical and simple thanks to the patient's prescription which is transcribed on the adhesive labels. In addition, the pillbox is renewable every week. The medicines are no longer stored at the patient's home, which saves space, reduces the risk of confusion and improves compliance.
