The needs of the elderly at the heart of a new drug policy

There are many studies based on the link between care institutions and medication. The latest is the Verger report, which highlights the harmful effects of drug treatment for people of advanced age. The most common adverse effects of overprescription are high blood pressure (BP), dementia, behavioural problems and abdominal pain. In most cases, these effects can be limited by avoiding overprescription.

To limit the adverse effects of drug treatments, we have developed a number of monitoring tools such as the Weekly Dose Administration (WDA), which aim to simplify and secure the drug circuit. The Secur' Dose software of the PDA Hebdo facilitates the retrieval of treatment plans, the preparation of pillboxes as well as the modification of patient prescriptions.
